Our administrative staff have recently made the decision to join the North Coast Youth Football Conference. While most youth football leagues within the area all provide exceptional services to thousands of youth athletes, we feel that this new venture will provide more opportunities for our children to grow and develop on the football field, and more importantly, in the classroom.
- Relaxed weight standards: Last year, we had the misfortune of having to turn away kids who were too heavy to participate in our league. Given that we are an official feeder program for our high school, it serve our overall program no good if we cannot include all children in our youth developmental program. In the new league, which operates under a unlimited weight standard, heavier kids will get the opportunity to participate under strict and controlled conditions. North Coast has been running this system for several years, and the safety of all participants is on par with other youth football programs nationwide and within the Greater Cleveland area. Your kids will be safe!
- Mentoring and tutoring program: Our new affiliation will bring about added benefits to the academic success of the children in our program. More emphasis will be placed on providing children with resources outside of football that will have a far greater impact on the lives and futures. Members within our organization and within the league will work together to establish effective programs that participants and their families can take advantage of. The American Youth Football Conference values academic achievement, and will continue to be a major point of emphasis within our organization.
During this transition period, our operating procedures will remain the same. Our home games will continue to be played at Monticello Middle School. The players will be placed on teams based on age, which will keep current rosters in tact. With the exception of new registration forms, all other operating procedures will remain unchanged. Within the North Coast Youth Football Conference, we will face opponents from the following cities: Warensville Heights, Maple Heights, Garfield Heights, Euclid, South Euclid, and Painsville (updates to follow).
