1. Parents of participants are expected to contact their child’s coach when they are to miss practices or games. The same rule applies when children are expected to arrive late for games and practices. Excessive unexcused absenteeism and tardiness will result in reduced game time or possible dismissal from the program.
2. We ask that all spectators refrain from sitting or standing on the actual field during practices or games. This can be a distraction to both coaches and players. We ask that spectators stay at least 50 feet from the practice field, and remain off of the sidelines during games. There is plenty of perimeter space available for spectators to view practices and games. Moreover, it is league policy that spectators and fans do not enter the field of play or the sidelines during games (this includes half-time and post-game player/coaches meetings). This policy will be enforced by all officials and Heights Tigers staff. Please be respectful of this rule and those who enforce it.
3. Parents/guardians do not have to remain at practices or games with their children. However, we strongly encourage parents to do so, especially for kids 6-7 years old.
4. If parents elect to leave their children at practices or games, we ask that they make arrangements to pick up them up on time. Someone from the coaching staff has to remain at practice until every child is picked up. Our coaches are gracious enough to volunteer their time to coach your children. Please pay them in kind by being punctual in picking up your children. If a pattern of excessive tardiness develops and persists, policies will be implemented to deter these occurrences.
5. Also, for parents who do not wish to stay during practices and games, we ask that they take non-participating children with them. We will not be held responsible for children who are not registered in our program. Furthermore, children who get hurt or injured at the field are not covered under our insurance unless they are registered participants in the program. In short, if you have children that are not registered in our football or cheer programs, please take them with you when you leave practice, or leave a responsible adult with them.
6. There will be zero tolerance for smoking, use or possession of illegal drugs, possession of firearms, or consumption of alcoholic beverages on any game or practice field. This is league policy, as well as that of the Cleveland Heights Department of Parks and Recreation. This policy will be strictly enforced. Individuals who do not comply with this policy will be asked to leave the field or event. Games and practices will be stopped until the non-compliant individual either complies or leaves the area. In extreme and and/or belligerent disregard of this policy, local law enforcement officials will be notified. Repeated offenses will result in the adult, and possibly their child, being banned from any remaining league events for a period of 1 year from the date of the incident.
